Stihl MS180 Chainsaw Review
Another great saw from Stihl that is packed with extra usability features to make the life of the operator more bearable!
The first thing any operator will notice is the weight, if you’ve used a Stihl 028 before you’ll be pleased to know this saw is 1.5kg lighter or 1.8kg if you have a non cat version.
The basic MS180 is missing the Easy2Start feature and catalytic converter found on the MS180C, and while these are both great features I really don’t think they will detract from your use of this brilliant little saw.
With a maximum bar size of 14 inches this isn’t a saw to be felling with, it might even be too small if your firewood starts out on the large side. Although for limbing and cutting up smaller firewood it’s perfect.
Most operators have found this saw easy to start and experience minimal vibration in use, the only occasional complaint is that the chain tensioner is hard to use.
