STIHL MS 660 Chainsaw Review
STIHL has devoted over 80 years to researching and developing high performing outdoor power equipment that is both affordable and durable. The STIHL chain saw line is especially popular as it caters to the needs of both home users and professional chain saw operators.
The STIHL MS 660 chain saw is a professional use chain saw that is suitable for heavy duty use in rough terrain and dense areas. Yet, for the non-professional who needs to perform heavy jobs once in a while, the STIHL MS 660 is a great choice as it is more powerful than occasional use chain saws and mid-range use chain saws.
This model not only cuts through solid wood but is fast-cutting as well. Therefore, it is excellent for hard labour like farming, land clearing, pruning big trees, cutting up big pieces of firewood or logging on a small scale. All in all, a good, well-rounded power tool to own.
With a power-to-weight ratio of 1.4 kg/kW, it features a high engine power (a power output of 5.2 kW) while being relatively lightweight (at 7.3 kg without bar/chain). Other notable aspects of the STIHL MS 660 include the anti-vibration system and a shock absorber called the ElastoStart.
The STIHL MS 660 also boasts a semi-automatic decompression valve that ensures effortless start-up. Its Ematic chain lubrication system guarantees great fuel economy by reducing bar oil consumption up to 50%.
The STIHL MS 660 is a great buy for both professional users and (very) heavy home users. Check out the official STIHL website for more details. Do note though that the version retailed in each country differs.
